Course Description

Examine different cultures to enhance your cultural competency in health and healing. Explore both historical and present-day cultural practicesthat impact health including diets, cultural activities, spirituality, geography, and lifestyle habits. Review essential theories, models, and practiceswhen working with diversity, gender, ancestral history, social issues and health disparities.

This course follows a blended delivery model (a mix of weekly lectures and independent learning). Weeks that include a lecture component will be scheduled for Saturdays from 9am - 12pm EST with the lecture being held virtually through Zoom Video Conferencing. A link to the Zoom lecture will be provided by the instructor prior to the first class. Course content will be accessed through MyCanvas starting on the official course start date.
