Program Description
Lean Six Sigma tools and business-improvement methodologies are optimizing the way companies do business in healthcare, finance, IT and many other industries. Green Belt certification at Mohawk College is the introductory level for Lean Six Sigma. Originally implemented in the manufacturing sector, these highly respected and proven business improvement methodologies are used by firms world-wide to improve processes and quality by reducing "non-value added" activities, process variations and waste in order to maximize efficiencies and customer satisfaction. Green Belt program participants will focus on a step-by-step process of improvement using statistical tools and Lean and Six Sigma project management strategies such as DMAIC and PDCA.
Mohawk College, partnered with Continuous Improvement Consulting 360 (CI360) (opens in new window), has developed an innovative way for professionals to achieve Yellow, Green and even Black Belt Certification in as little as 8 months.
Focused courses are offered every 7 weeks for Yellow, Green and Black Belt. Once theory is learned by the student, they can complete their certification by undertaking a real life Lean Six Sigma project. With sufficient experience, recipients of the certification can prepare to write the ASQ Green Belt certification exams.
