Program Description

Examine a relational care approach to responsive behaviours in older adults with dementia. Gain an understanding of the complexities of dementia and the many factors that affect responsive behaviours and the subsequent complexities of managing those responsive behaviours by caregivers. An emphasis will be placed on the cognitive, emotional, social, and psychological impacts on both the person with dementia and the caregiver. Learn to explain the factors that influence and contribute to responsive behaviours and select the care approach.

Intakes are available in the Fall (September), Winter (January), and Spring (May).
