Course Description

Integrate knowledge and skills learned in Obstetrical Nursing 1 (Advanced) in a Level 1+ or 2 perinatal nursing care setting (post partum, labour & delivery, antepartum clinic, antenatal diagnostic unit etc. Mohawk College Medical Clearance and current Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) are required.

Students are required to complete HLTH10223 – Preplacement/Clinical Services , not part of the program of study, prior to registering for their Clinical/Placement or to be eligible to attend. All requirements must remain valid for the entire duration of the Clinical/Placement. Students are required to also complete all theory courses prior to registering for their Clinical/Placement. 

To register for this course complete the Student Clinical/Placement/Lab Request Form, as special approval is required. 

Prerequisites

Neonatal Resuscitation-Provider Certification (HSCI10163) AND Obstetrics 2: Management of High Risk Patients in Emergencies (NRSG10107)
