Course Description

Students are provided with an introduction to the basic theory and skills which are necessary for effective interviewing and counselling. A microskills approach to intentional counselling will be taken. Throughout this course, the student will use role-play situations to practice skills, concepts and methods designed to develop concrete competencies in interviewing and counselling.

Students in the Social Service Worker (215) program can complete this course as an equivalent to COMMSO226 - Interviewing Skills 1
