Course Description

This course is designed to examine the psychopathology of infancy and childhood as part of a continuum of development. The exploration of disorders will focus on features, etiology, and treatment (including current medications). The course begins with an examination of the concepts of abnormality from a historical to current perspective and an introduction to the diagnotics methods used in the children's mental health field, with a focus on the Child and Youth Worker's use of the Diagnotics and Statisical Manual of Mental Disorders.
