Course Description

At the lab assistant level, collection and handling of routine hematological specimens, preparation and staining of blood films, setting up for processing, using automated equipment of hemoglobin and blood cell counts will be studied. Methodology involved for microhematocrits, erythrocyte sedimentation rates, basic coagulation studies and serological tests will be reviewed, as well as associated clerical duties.
