Course Description

Examine global strategies designed to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding. Outline basic anatomy and physiology of human lactation. Discuss ways to normalize breastfeeding and infant behaviour through skin-to-skin contact, KMC, and baby-led latching. Develop skills to support breastfeeding during pregnancy through communication theory and principles of adult teaching and learning.
