Course Description

Examine the history, structure, function, and funding of public health in Canada, as well as the theoretical foundations and conceptual approaches that inform public health nursing practice. Explore regulatory and practice standards, competencies, population health ethics, and the use of evidence in practice. Proof of current RN registration or graduate nurse registration (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario certificate of registration in the Temporary Class) with the respective provincial/territory regulator is required to register.

Admission and Registration

By registering for the course offered by Mohawk College, the student acknowledges and affirms the following:

The student is currently a credentialed Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with a recognized nursing regulatory body in Canada. The student further declares that they have never been subject to any disciplinary action, nor is there any current investigation, hearing, or proceeding pending against them before their nursing regulatory body.

The student further agrees and acknowledges that if Mohawk College determines at any time that the student is not a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with their applicable regulatory body, or that the student is subject to any ongoing disciplinary proceeding, investigation, or hearing, Mohawk College may immediately remove the student from the course. In such circumstances, all fees paid by the student to Mohawk College shall be forfeited, and the student shall have no right of appeal arising from such removal.

The student further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mohawk College, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses of any kind, including reasonable legal fees, incurred by or awarded against the Indemnified Parties in connection with any third-party claim arising directly or indirectly from any misrepresentation by the student regarding their registration status or standing with the applicable regulatory nursing body.” Interested in taking a single course?
