Course Description

Explore the philosophical and theoretical foundations of Recreation Therapy, including concepts of leisure behaviour and models of service delivery. Examine definitions and goals of Recreation therapy service, client groups served and the process of service delivery in Ontario’s health care system. Explain Recreation Therapy terms and concepts, and identify current resources in the field, including Therapeutic Recreation Ontario resources. Participate in experiential workshops to learn skills for the introduction in multisensory environments and supporting people living with dementia.
