Course Description

This course provides an overview of financial management and covers financial statement analysis, valuation of cash flows, risk and return, as well as an introduction to capital budgeting. Finance directly affects every individual, organization (both public and private) and branch of government. This course is designed to provide accounting students with skills that will allow them to make better financial decisions. Business Finance I and II are logical termination courses because they draw on information learned in first and second years courses. For those students who will be continuing their studies by working toward their CGA, they will receive credit for the CGA course called Finance I by completing Business Finance I and Business Finance II and Managerial Cost Accounting II. A grade of 70% is required in each of the equivalent courses in order to obtain a transfer credit from CGA.
