Course Description

Students will learn basic classical/fingerpicking guitar styles,; folk and country oriented chording and strumming techniques; and develop a working knowledge of guitar history. The bulk of materials for this course will be delivered through an iSpring (Powerpoint) video presentation containing a weekly guitar lesson, fingerboard gymnastics/micro movement exercises, video play alongs, self-evaluation quizzes and the Guitar Talk history video segments. Additional activities outside of this video presentation include weekly guitar history discussion boards, guitar forums for student-to-student video performance feedback, and independent research quizzes on music-fundamentals. Weekly live video-chats with the professor will allow students an oppoprtunity to ask questions or watch further demonstrations. This course is for absolute beginners or those with some background in guitar wishing to expand or upgrade skills.
