Course Description

This course will focus on the safe use and maintenance of various tools and equipment in the meat processing industry in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. These good practices will prepare students to prevent workplace hazards and/or personal injuries that are common to the meat industry. Students will learn the function of equipment and how to manipulate and maintain them to ensure adequate operation. Emphasis will be made on potential hazards for the untrained and inattentive worker to prepare learners for a safe working environment.
