Course Description

Examine the ethical practice of social work through the exploration of the historical development of Social Work as a profession in Canada. Investigate the history of society's response to meeting human needs; the evolution of the values and ethics in the social work profession; and the process of developing a framework for identifying, analysing, and implementing ethical dimensions of practice.

This course follows a lecture-based delivery model. Weekly lectures will be scheduled for Thursdays from 6:30pm-9:30pm EST and held virtually through Zoom Video ConferencingAll course content including a link to the Zoom lectures can be accessed through MyCanvas starting on the official course start date.
