CLIN10058 - Footcare Field Practicum
Course Description
Benefit from the opportunity to observe and implement foot care within scope of practice to clients in a residential setting.
Admission and Registration
By registering for the course offered by Mohawk College, the student acknowledges and affirms the following:
The student is currently a credentialed Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with a recognized nursing regulatory body in Canada. The student further declares that they have never been subject to any disciplinary action, nor is there any current investigation, hearing, or proceeding pending against them before their nursing regulatory body.
The student further agrees and acknowledges that if Mohawk College determines at any time that the student is not a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with their applicable regulatory body, or that the student is subject to any ongoing disciplinary proceeding, investigation, or hearing, Mohawk College may immediately remove the student from the course. In such circumstances, all fees paid by the student to Mohawk College shall be forfeited, and the student shall have no right of appeal arising from such removal.
The student further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mohawk College, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, and expenses of any kind, including reasonable legal fees, incurred by or awarded against the Indemnified Parties in connection with any third-party claim arising directly or indirectly from any misrepresentation by the student regarding their registration status or standing with the applicable regulatory nursing body.
Interested in taking a single course? Provided you have the appropriate prerequisites, the courses in this program can be taken individually.
Students are required to complete HLTH10223 – Preplacement/Clinical Services , not part of the program of study, prior to registering for their Clinical/Placement or to be eligible to attend. All requirements must remain valid for the entire duration of the Clinical/Placement. Students are required to also complete all theory courses prior to registering for their Clinical/Placement.
To register for this course complete the Student Clinical/Placement/Lab Request Form, as special approval is required.
Once registered:
- Notify CEClinical Specialist of your preferred site(s) to confirm that an affiliation agreement is in place. Students will not be permitted to start their placement hours without an active affiliation agreement with the site.
- Once confirmed, student may go ahead and secure dates with the practicum site.
- Practicum information (start/end date, location, preceptor contact, etc) must be communicated with the CEClinical Specialist and instructor prior to your start date.
- Student must access the course page to review the practicum handbook and/or documents required.
Additional information will be provided by the Clinical Placement Specialist who may assist, if needed, in locating a practicum site.
