Course Description

The analysis and critique of social problems, legislation and policies is a key element of competent social service work practice. Critically examine social welfare legislation and policies in Canada. Assess the social, economic and political contexts of social policy development. Study the impact of current social policy and legislation on various service user groups. Examine structural, critical and anti-oppressive theories that form the basis of inquiry, analysis and evaluation of various social policies.
