Course Description

Analyze the social impact technologies have on society by looking at its origins, adaptations and pervasiveness throughout our lives. In this course we will dissect how technology has the ability to displace world order, as well as evaluate how culture and technology are co-constructed. Topics include technology-mediated relationships; intersections of technology and social class, inequality, gender, sexuality and race; as well as digital labour, data analytics, surveillance, warfare, and neutrality.
