Course Description

Examine and understand the concepts of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, intersectionality, and biases as they relate to individuals and groups from various lived and living experiences. Gain a deep understanding of identity and its connection to power and privilege, examine the experiences of individuals and groups using anti-oppression frameworks, and develop an awareness of and appreciation for cultural humility to foster a greater understanding of clients.

Students in the Social Service Worker (215) program can complete this course as an equivalent to HMNSSO232 - Privilege & Oppression in SSW.
