Course Description

Gain proficiency in evidence-informed nursing practice, relational practice, leadership, and clinical judgement by working with a Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor. Guided by your preceptor, you will be a contributing member of interprofessional health care teams, developing leadership skills and independence. During planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, you will use evidence-informed and strengths-based approaches to apply increasingly complex therapeutic nursing interventions. You will use strengths-based approaches to focus on deepening your assessment, clinical judgement, and advocacy skills and abilities to provide client care that is ethical, respectful, safe, competent, and compassionate. At the completion of the preceptorship, you will meet the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Entry-to-Practice (ETP) Competencies for Registered Nurses.

This course has been funded through the Ontario government's Nursing Program Transformation in Ontario's Colleges initiative.
