Course Description

Political advocacy is a key feature of anti-oppressive social service worker practice. Political advocacy seeks to ensure that social welfare policies and programs are accessible, effective, suitable, flexible, inclusive, sufficient and competent for service users. Practical skills and strategies aimed at defending the rights of individuals, families, groups and communities are examined and practiced.
