Course Description

Examine Nutrition and the biochemistry of breast milk focusing on maternal and infant nutritional needs. Major topics to be examined are as follows: observation, assessment and management of difficulties related to infant suck and milk transfer and tools and techniques to alleviate minor and major maternal/infant breastfeeding problems. Other foci are breastfeeding research utilization and best practice guidelines.
