Course Description
Examine strategic management theories and practices for healthcare organizations. Explain human behavior in group settings and its effects on productivity, organizational effectiveness, and efficiency, decision-making, conflict, organizational design, and organizational culture among other variables. Assess policies pertaining to privacy and security of personal health information and records including the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), and The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Examine the legal, ethical, privacy and security issues involved in working with health data and their impact.This course is restricted to students that have been accepted to the Digital Health Program.
