Course Description

Examine the history, structure, function, and funding of public health in Canada, as well as the theoretical foundations and conceptual approaches that inform public health nursing practice. Explore regulatory and practice standards, competencies, population health ethics, and the use of evidence in practice. Proof of current RN registration or graduate nurse registration (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario certificate of registration in the Temporary Class) with the respective provincial/territory regulator is required to register.
