Course Description

Facilitating effective counseling sessions through application of basic influencing skills while modifying the approach according to the youth’s need for any of the following: behaviour change, validation, crisis intervention, conflict management or any of the six core components of complex trauma interventions. Students will explore how to facilitate traumatic experience integration, emotional and behavioral self-regulation, and post-traumatic growth.

Students can complete Interviewing Skills 2 (COUN10012) as an equivalent course.
