Course Description

This is a foundational course of a four-course program to equip the learners with knowledge and skills to function effectively as ethics committee members and ethics champions in their respective organizations. The first course in the practical ethics series has been created for people working in healthcare and social services who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills related to the most commonly encountered ethical challenges in their practices. Besides theoretical knowledge, the learners will use case-based scenarios to illustrate practical aspects of ethical challenges throughout the course. Next, the students will learn how to recognize ethical dilemmas and address those using tools learned in this course. The course's overarching goal is for the learners to end up with basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are generalizable across the healthcare and social services spectrum.
