Course Description

In this course, students will build on their knowledge of the learning process for youth and adults, and cover the theoretical and conceptual frameworks underpinning the instruction and development of effective metacognitive learning strategies for students with learning disabilities. Relevant research and useful resources will be examined; including the Planning for Success Self-Assessment Inventory tool. Students will explore common criteria for success; including: study skills, note-taking, time management, reading comprehension, written expression, mathematical problem solving, and managing anxiety.

Students can complete EDUC10097 - Learning Strategies and Classroom Skills as an equivalent course when offered.
