Program Description

This series of courses has been designed for anyone interested in learning to sew or developing their existing sewing skills. Learn how to read a pattern, proper fitting and measuring techniques and even the basics of how to use a sewing machine.

Learning to construct basic garments is key to enhancing your sewing skills. In each course, you will develop clothing for yourself or others, including pants or shorts, collarless shirt or top, dressmaking, jacket making, and more. While creating each article of clothing, specific techniques and best practices will be studied.

This is also a great lead-in to the Dressmaking Certificate, which has a greater emphasis on fitting and altering patterns to achieve a professional standard and developing expertise with different fabrics and textures while constructing garments.
