Course Description

Examine the background, basic principles, and methods of epidemiology, including the biological, behavioral, sociocultural, and environmental factors associated with the etiology and distribution of health and disease. Explore and apply these fundamental epidemiological concepts and methods to inform clinical and policy decisions regarding the prevention of injury as well as chronic and infectious disease prevention in public health nursing practice. Proof of current RN registration or graduate nurse registration (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario certificate of registration in the Temporary Class) with the respective provincial/territory regulator is required to register.
