Course Description

Applying principles of CYC relational practice examine and demonstrate the use of specific evidence-informed therapeutic modalities including play therapy, creative therapies, adventure based therapy, pet/animal therapy in order to design, implement and evaluate therapeutic programs, activities and workshops which are consistent with the developmental level, identified interests, strengths, needs, culturally relevant norms and therapeutic goals of children and youth.

This course follows a synchronous delivery model with live virtual lectures. These online lectures will be scheduled at various points throughout the course, with other weeks dedicated to independent work. Course content will be available on MyCanvas starting from the official course start date, and the lectures can be accessed through MyCanvas as well.

Equivalents

Advanced Therapeutic Programming (HMNSCC362) OR Childhood Disorders (HMNS10020) AND Multi-Modal Therapies in Child and Youth Work (HMNS10030)
