Course Description

Apply public health and social sciences, legislation and policy in nursing practice integrating foundational theoretical concepts and frameworks with individuals, families, groups, communities, populations, and systems in a public health placement.

Students must complete HLTH10223 – Preplacement/Clinical Services, not part of the program of study, prior to enrolling in the clinical and/or laboratory experience course to ensure all required pre-clinical/pre-lab  clearances have been met and are current. Students who are not cleared in HLTH10223, will not be approved to attend clinical and/or lab. 

All requirements must be valid throughout the duration of your clinical and/or lab.

Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (NRSG10132) AND Foundations of Public Health Nursing Practice (NRSG10134) AND Epidemiology for Public Health Nursing (NRSG10135) AND Social and Ecological Determinants of Health and Health Equity (NRSG10136) AND Supporting and Strengthening Families Across the Lifespan (NRSG10137) AND Setting-based Public Health Nursing (NRSG10138) AND Priority Populations (NRSG10139) AND Community/Population Health and Clinical Decision Making (NRSG10140) AND Communication in Public Health Nursing (NRSG10141)
